더배곳(2년제 심화 과정)
개인 및 공동 프로젝트와 더불어 실무 프로젝트를 진행하는 전문 심화 과정입니다.
이 과정에서 배우미는 2년 동안 전문 지도 스승들, 개인 지도 스승과 함께 깊이 있는 워크숍을 진행하며
디자이너로서 제다움을 마련합니다. 이 과정에서 더배곳 배우미들은 자신에게 맞는 글쓰기 형식으로 에세이를 쓰며,
결과물로 책을 멋짓고 전시를 합니다.

Deobaegot (post graduate 2 – year course)
This is an intensive course for carrying out individual, group, and practical projects.
Through its 2 years of duration, students participate in workshops with individual and specialized professors
to find their own culture. Students write essays based on their own writing format and publish their performance into books.

더배곳은 디자인 전문가를 길러내는 실기 위주의 2년제 전문 심화 과정입니다. 더배곳에는 실기작업 중심의 본과정과,
이론 중심의 디자인인문 연구과정, 디지털 매체를 바탕으로 둔 디지털디자인 연구과정, 책을 중심으로 한 출판디자인 연구과정이 있습니다.
더배곳에서는 개인 심화 작업과 더불어 공동 디자인 프로젝트도 함께 해나갑니다. 국내외 현장에서 활발히 활동하는 전문 스승들이 수업과
워크숍을 맡고 있으며, 이 과정에서 더배곳 배우미들은 다양한 디자인 분야 스승들의 워크숍, 세미나와 특강, 여행, 인문학 수업을 통해
디자이너로서의 기량을 닦아나갑니다. 1, 2학기에는 개인 탐구와 작업을 함께하고, 개인 지도 스승과 함께 에세이(논문)를 준비하며
3, 4학기에 마침 프로젝트를 진행합니다.

| Deobaegot: 2-year postgraduate course |
Deobaegot provides a 2-year intensive practice-oriented curriculum to train professional designers.
The school’s curriculum is composed of a main course of practice, design humanities research around theories,
digital design research around digital fonts, and publication design around books.
Deobaegot carries out individual in-depth work along with cooperative design projects.
Students can learn from active professionals in the field and, through this course, shape their own skills as
designers through workshops with teachers, seminars and lectures, trips, and humanities classes.
For the first and second semesters, students will perform individual exploration and work as well as preparing
essays with individual professors. During the third and fourth semesters, students participate in a graduation project.

1. 개인 프로젝트
– 개인의 관심 주제를 바탕으로 시각 디자인의 여러 가능성을 탐구하여 스스로의 영역을 깊고 넓게 시도합니다.
– 문화, 사회, 역사적 맥락에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 배우미 스스로의 제다움을 발견, 그에 바탕한 작업관을 세우며 삶에 밀착된 실사구시 작업을 해나갑니다.

1. Personal projects
Based on their own interests, students explore various possibilities of visual design, and try to intensify and
expand their fields. Though their understanding of culture, society, and history, students also find their
own culture and establish individual work value to carry out life-oriented exploration.

2. 에세이와 책 멋지음
글쓰기는 전문 디자이너가 가져야 할 중요한 소양 가운데 하나입니다.
더배곳 배우미는 자신의 생각과 작업에 대한 글쓰기 과정을 에세이 지도 스승과 함께 진행합니다.
이를 통해 넓은 생각과 표현 능력을 기르며 개인 작업의 깊이를 더해나갑니다. 완성된 에세이와 작업물은 책 멋지음 과정을 거쳐 책으로 종합합니다.

2. Essay and book design
Writing is one of the skills professional designers must have. Students in Deobaegot work on writing their own
thoughts and works into essays, and individual professionals help them along the way.
Completed essays become books through book design.

3. 맺음전
더배곳 과정을 마치는 중요 관문인 ‘맺음전’에서는 두 해 동안의 배움을 정리하여 개인 작업물과 에세이 책 멋지음을 선보입니다.

3. Exhibition
In the ‘exhibition,’ the important stage of completing the Deobaegot course,
students finish their work of 2 months and exhibit it along with their essay books.
