<안녕, 코로나 19> 국제일러스트공모전 전시 개전식 + 시상식
<Hello & Goodbye Covid-19> International Illustration Competition PV + Awards ceremony


PaTI에서 기획, 주최한 <안녕, 코로나19> 국제 일러스트 공모전의 수상작 전시가 지난 쇠날(금) 홍대앞 라이즈 호텔에서 열렸습니다.

이 공모전은 전세계가 무방비 상태로 맞이한 코로나19 판데믹 시대를 일러스트레이션 두 컷(이전/이후)으로 표현함을 목표로, 공모 기간(2020.7.11~8.25) 동안 전세계 14개국 160여명이 참여했으며, 이 가운데 20명의 작업을 선정해 이번 전시에 선보였습니다.

심사는 김예니(홍익대 교수), 이푸로니(서울시립대 교수), 무나씨(일러스트레이터), 권민호(PaTI 일러스트레이션 스튜디오 마루)가 맡았으며 ‘단순히 호기심을 충족하는 것이 아닌, 기록하는 방식으로 일러스트레이션의 새로운 가능성을 열었다’며, ‘예술가들이 바라본 코로나19의 다양한 해석으로 현재를 이해할 수 있었다’고 평가했습니다.

1등을 수상한 도예린은 코로나 이전 열린 사회의 닫힌 모습을 나타 냈고, 2등 Eugene Angelo는 백과사전에 어울리는 그림판(도판)으로 현대 문화 변화를 보여줬으며 3등 임경환은 이목구비를 점으로 표현해 코로나 이후 사람 모습에 대한 향수를 표현했습니다.

전시는 1~3등 수상작을 포함, 총 20명의 작업을 9월 25일까지 라이즈 호텔 1층 갤러리와 티슈오피스가 만든 가상의 디지털 전시장에서 함께 만나볼 수 있습니다.

<안녕, 코로나19> 국제 일러스트레이션 공모전 수상작 전시

‘안녕’이라는 인사는 오묘합니다. ‘안녕’은 만남의 인사(Hello)이자 작별의 인사(Good bye)입니다. ‘안녕(Hello & Good bye), 코로나19’는 어떤 존재와의 뜻밖의 만남과 작별을 원하면서도 동행이 불가피한 코로나 판데믹 시대의 당혹스러운 삶의 풍경을 담은 공모전 및 전시입니다. 코로나 바이러스를 표현하는 두 컷의 일러스트(이전/이후)에는 코로나 바이러스의 출현 전후로 완전히 바뀌어 버린 삶의 풍경들이 압축되어 있으며, 거기에는 현재 인간문명의 불안과 희망이 아이러니컬하게 깃들어 있습니다.

이 공모전의 취지는 바이러스를 생화학적으로 묘사하려는 데에 있지 않습니다. 이제는 강력한 영향력을 통해 생활의 기본 조건이 되어버린 미지의 존재와 어떻게 조우하고 동행 할 것인가, 하는 질문을 위트 있게 던져보고 싶은 것입니다. 우리는 비가시적인 것의 가시화를 통해서, 사람들의 막연한 불안이 삶의 전체와 관련하여 존재들이 맺는 새로운 관계성에 대한 각성으로 전환되기를 소망합니다. 세계 여러 나라에서 들어온 응모작을 통해 지금 이 시점 인류의 공통된 불안과 희망을 동시에 만날 수 있는 것은 이 공모전 및 전시의 덤입니다.

(개전식은 코로나 정부방침에 의거 미리 초대된 인원만 참석 가능합니다)

<Hello & Goodbye COVID-19> International Illustration Competition Winners’ Exhibition

The Korean greeting “An-young” is mysterious. It means ‘Hello’ and ‘Goodbye’ at the same time. ‘Hello & Good bye, Covid-19’ is a competition and exhibition containing the panicked landscape of life in the Covid Pandemic Era, in which an unexpected meeting and farewell to an entity is desired, but companionship is inevitable. In the two illustrations (before/after) expressing the coronavirus, the landscapes of life that have completely changed before and after the appearance of the coronavirus are compressed, and ironically, the anxiety and hope of the current human civilization are contained.

The purpose of this competition is not to describe the virus biochemically. Now, we want to wittily ask the question of how to meet and accompany the unknown, which has become the basic condition of our life through its strong influence. We hope that through the visualization of the invisible, people’s vague anxiety will turn into an awakening of the new relationships that beings have in relation to the whole of life. It is the bonus of this competition and exhibition that you can meet the common anxiety and hope of mankind at this time through entries from various countries around the world.

안녕, 코로나19 일러스트레이션 공모전 결과 발표
Announcing 20 shortlist entries Hello & Goodbye Covid-19 international illustration Competition

<안녕, 코로나19 일러스트레이션 공모전> 결과를 발표합니다.
이번 공모전은 한국을 비롯한 세계 14개 국에서 160여명의 작업자들이 참여했습니다. 공모된 작업을 통해 이미지로 소통하는 세계의 창작자들이 위기의 시대와 대면하는 방식을 경험할 수 있었습니다. 4명의 심사위원들은 고민을 거듭해 20개의 작업을 선정했습니다. 선정에 우선 순위를 둔 기준은 아래와 같습니다.

표현에 있어 독창성과 실험성이 돋보이는가?
지금 유행하는 일러스트레이션 표현에서 새로운 방향을 제시하는가?
코로나 시대에 대한 창의적 관점과 상상력이 반영되었는가?
다양한 계층의 폭넓은 관객들과 소통할 수 있는가?

각각의 심사위원은 위 기준을 바탕으로 작업을 선택하고 그 선택이 충분한 보편성을 갖는지 심사위원 전체 논의를 통해 재확인하는 과정을 가졌습니다. 또한, 제출된 2개의 작업간에 흥미로운 맥락이 만들어지는지?, 공모 가이드를 통해 안내했던 최종 결과물의 인쇄방식 – 손소독제병 + 포스터, 실크 인쇄의 특성에 잘 맞춰지는지 여부도 고민했습니다. 멋지고 뜻깊은 작업으로 이번 공모전에 참여해 주신 모든 분들께 큰 감사드립니다.

선정된 작업은 재가공을 거쳐 홍대 Ryse 호텔과 티슈오피스의 가상 갤러리를 통해 전시 됩니다. 또한, 모두 명단의 작업자 모두 1,2,3 등의 후보자가 됩니다. 수상자는 전시 오프닝 행사 때 발표됩니다.

We are now announcing the results of <Hello & Goodbye Corona 19 Illustration competition>.

Over 160 image makers from 14 countries including Korea participated in this competition. Through the submitted work, we were able to experience the way the world’s creators who communicate through images face the era of crisis. Four judges repeatedly thought about and selected 20 works. The criteria that prioritized selection are as follows.

Do the works’ originality and experimentation outstanding in expression?
Do the works present a new direction in the expression of illustrations?
Has the work’s creative perspective and imagination on the Corona era been reflected?
Can the works communicate with a wide audience from different classes?

Each judge selected the works based on the above criteria. The judges debated whether the choice was sufficiently universal. In addition, we considered whether there would be an interesting context between the two submitted works, and whether it fits well with the characteristics of the print method – silkscreen printed on hand sanitizer bottle + poster which was outlined in the competition guide. A big thank you to everyone who participated in this competition for the wonderful and meaningful works.

The selected works will be reprocessed and displayed at the Hongdae Ryse Hotel gallery and a virtual gallery created by Tissue Office. Also, all workers on the list will be candidates for the awards. The top winners will be presented at the exhibition opening ceremony.

<Hello & Goodbye COVID-19 International Illustration competition>

How would our life unfold in the post-Corona world?
We seek to have closer look for possibilities to generate questions and answers for dealing with COVID-19 pandemic through artistic imagination. It is an international open call to encourage people to create visual expressions in forms of drawing, illustration, and graphic design of Coronavirus. The result will be exhibited in both physical and virtual space.


__Jury selection prize:
First prize : 1 person, 1,000 USD
Second prize : 1 person, 500 USD
Third. prize: 1person, 250 USD


__Competition Theme:
Personal re-interpretations of the virus in relation to everyday lives of people rather than the stereotype images found in the media.

<한‧폴 수교 30주년 기념로고 공모전 시상식>

올해 초 진행한 ‘한국‧폴란드 수교 30주년’ 기념로고 공모전 시상식이 열렸습니다.
이 공모전은 2019년 한국과 폴란드 수교 30주년을 맞이해
‘폴란드문화원’, ‘바르샤바예술대학’, ‘파티’가 협업하여
 기획한 기념 로고 공모전이며
파티와 바르샤바예술대학 배우미들이 참여했습니다.

수상작들은 지난 4월에 공개되었으며 시상식은 각국에서 진행,
바르샤바예술대학은 4월 23일 파티 전시 개전식에서, 파티는 5월 17일에 각각 진행했습니다.

폴란드문화원 관계자들이 직접 파티에 방문해
배우미들과 만나 상장과 선물을 전달해주셨습니다.

<한국·폴란드 수교 30주년 기념로고 공모 결과>

2019년 한국-폴란드 수교 30주년을 맞이해
‘폴란드문화원’, ‘바르샤바예술대학’, ‘파티’가 협업하여
기념 로고 공모를 기획했습니다.

이를 위해 양국의 디자인 학교인 파티와 바르샤바예술대학 학생들을 대상으로
로고 디자인 공모를 진행(2019.1.21 – 2.4)했으며,
총 43명의 학생이 참여, 150개가 넘는 로고가 출품되었습니다.

이 가운데 파티 배우미 고은의 작업이 1위로 선정(2019.3.20.발표)되어
앞으로 1년 동안 양국 수교 30주년 공식 로고로 사용될 예정이며,
1-3등 수상자에게는 상금이 전달될 예정입니다.
이밖에 우수한 작업을 보여준 6명의 선외 가작 또한 발표되었습니다.
